Is there a small La Scala that share the same characteristics and principles only on a smaller scale? Maybe half the size roughly and would be good in a smaller room in house.

I am afraid not. Even with the large size the LaScala it only goes to like 60hz or maybe 50hz and starts dropping around 100hz. The bass it makes though is fantastic, quick and less distortion than a non horn loaded bass speaker. I have my sub set to around 75hz to make up the difference and then just enough not to boom. I like quick precise bass, not the mushy kind. From my years of listening of speakers I believe a good sealed 15" driver and a good sub will get you almost a good a sound with a much smaller size. If I were to build a good horn system that is the way I would go. Big mid horn, 2" if you can afford it with a decent treble horn if not 2 way.

I thought I would mention, there are many happy with the econowave for a small room and you could use a good sub for the lower bass. A good diy 2 way system using a 12" woofer where you can cross higher with more available drivers for the mid and highs. With a 15" bass speaker you will need to find a mid driver that goes to around 700hz or lower.

horn bulk could probably be cut a bit using a single path, mouth area would probably only be somewhat less than 400sq.in. A Karlson type could be an alternative for LS. A regular Karlson K12 (3.3 cubic foot bulk) or Karlson X15 - size (~4.2 cubic foot) K-coupler would go to ~80Hz solid and have good power handling. A slotted pipe waveguide could be used on top.

the old distributed slit vent works well enough with music but on sine near fb, introduces high vent velocities and harmonic
distortion - a single vent would solve that behavior.
