So I've been a klipsch fan for a while. Done some DIY Lascala/Altec things, Heresys...and a couple other things.
I have always read the opinion that the Forte II was the most balanced Klipsch out there. I recently stumbled on to a mint pair for a song.
I started out with my KSA50 Klone - I thought, this is it! What bass and control. but something was missing.....
tried Adcom GFA535 II, Tandberg Tr2030, Newer Onkyo thing, Kenwood KA-8100, Yamaha humpty dumpty etc. etc.
Naahhh
Then I remembered my Aleph Mini that was tucked away. It is the first amp I ever made that only almost went up in smoke. A measly 12 WPC and not too much heat for the summertime.
Heaven! Just right! Huge detail, lean accurate bass, wow.
Planning a winter A5 now.
Food for thought - the original Aleph was successful and beloved for a reason, especially when paired right. A new builder shouldn't hesitate, especially since it might be the most highly documented design out there.
I'm just sayin 🙂
Edit - forgot to say... thanks again NP!

My friend likes to shock visitors at his home and on visit the Aleph mini under his arms with the sound of the Aleph mini.
He prefers it even to his Aleph 3.

I run a pair of Forte IIs on the end of a pair of F5t mono power amps (100 watts) for a while. I was very, very impressed.
A little more 'swing' than 12 wpc might help.
I'm thinking ....
How about an Aleph J style amp for higher rails? Cascoded front end and all that?
I'll call it the "Swordfish"

it sounds as Babelfish J v2...... easy to re-work any Aleph
you have all necessary sch. and know-how here
It'll never work. My idea is much more solid

on second thought......
A winter beater babelfish J with A5-esque level rails.
ZM is a genius.
