I merely reacted on this statement. I have no clue what amp is at hand here, but I guess it’s no 150W amp. There are lots of 30 to 60W amps from the ‘90s (from Musical Fidelity to Rotel) that not all have soft clipping. But then again, 30W actually suffices for any listening bar party levels.fuses replaced to solid copper connection (I do not afraid of that, as it is impossible to blow speakers with my amp, it is too weak).
It is tiny Elekit TU8200, whole 8+8W per channel in ultralinear mode on paper. In reality even a little less.
Hi everybody! Just finished all rebuild of my Kirksaeters 120 and it appeared, one of tweeters is dead 🙁 Anybody knows maybe, what tweeter it is/was or what replacement can be used?
Since the midrange resembles an ADR50s strongly, the tweeter might originate from the same company. Unobtanium now I‘m afraid. Then again, the dome surround looks like Celestion.
Could it be mid and tweets originally are an MB-Quart job, or do all roads at the end lead to Elac/Eton?
After deep search found them - MB Quart HTL-1913. No chance to get. Some 4-5 years ago there were some on ebay, now nothing. Currenty the only driver, which fits with no tweaking is SB Acoustic SB21RDC-C000-4...
@Sir_Gorg I have a few pairs of Kirksaeter myself and wonder what your final choice of components was on the 120's. I have two pairs of 80's and a pair of 150's that I recently acquired. As for your MB Quart search, I might be able to help you out. I have some with attenuated mounting. Send a PM.
