kicker impulse 354xi goes in and out of protection

hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post
I have a broken kicker 354xi amp that i would like to repair .the unit came to me in non working condition so i don't know how or why it failed.the amp stays in protection most of the time but after few attempts to power it it actually does power on .if the amp powers on there is no dc on the speaker amps and the amp idles good ,however if u even touch the input rca's the unit goes in protect again .nothing appears to be burned and all solders look factory like 🙂

i disabled the protection system and the amp powered on and draws high current then the resistors by the speaker terminals smoked and shorted out .I cut them of the board and the amp powers on and idles fine now with no dc on the speaker terminals .3 channels work good but front right channels has heavy distortion

What did you do to disable the protection circuit?

When you drive a signal into the dead channel, do you see DC voltage build on that channel?

there is a transistor A1266 that had his middle leg connected to leg 4 of the pwm ic 494 i removed it from the board and no longer goes into protect mode .the distorting channel had a cold solder on the rca so now i got clean audio on all channels .there is no dc on the speaker terminals with /without audio applied

Replace/reinstall the resistors near the speaker terminals and push on the RCA jacks and various other points on the board. If there is an intermittent connection that's causing the amp to oscillate, it could blow the speakers.

i would replace the resistors if i could find the values of them .they are all charred so i cannot read the color code .do u think kicker will give the values
