Keratherm insulating material

Hello all,

Does anyone know where to buy Keratherm red insulation in the UK at a reasonable price. I have been quoted approx £150 for a 1m by 0.5m sheet by Young Electronics, the UK distributor. I have no need for such a large amount, a 300mm x 300mm (12" by 12") sheet would be more appropriate.

Thanks for any help,
Ian

Thanks Toni,

You've been very helpful. I'm preparing to order parts for a MOSFET amplifier, in order to test Richard's 'pure cherry' compensation. It should be a very interesting exercise. Can I make it stable? BTW, I don't think the ringing on the edges you saw should necessarily have put you off. In my experience, that is just a sign of low gain margin. If you were testing in to a cap load, that is to be expected. If a resistive load, then it is probably a cause for concern.

Thanks once again.

Best wishes,
Ian

Many thanks for your help ticktock, I had already contacted them, see my (moved) post in the parts forum.

Moderator, I apologise. I now appear to have two posts in this forum. Please merge them if possible. Sorry for my infringement and any inconvenience. I posted in both forums, because relevant people may not look in both.

Thanks,
Ian

You're welcome!
The instability was caused also by a pure resistive load. Maybe Richard will try to simulate the amplifier again to get more gain margin to get pure cherry running ...
I have enough spare pcb's for more 2stageEF (aka: SA2013) tests and variants.🙂

Good luck for your project - maybe you are willing to show us some progress or "the making of" your amplifier. 😉
