kenwood reciever 1060vr

from that i can tell its digital volume on it. and when i turn it up it pops. and some times goes from 1db to 20 db just by a little turn.
old recievers i can fix this digital stuff im still learning. is this normal for this model and if so that ic needs replacing or tweak

ic was good it was a bad resister and some traces
