I don't love Kenwood that much... Considering the content and quality of most FM broadcasts these days, I wouldn't bother. Having said that, i picked up an old Sansui TU-555 and found it a really nice change as compared to my tired old Denon digital tuner.
Actually I have no complaints with my Kaito all band tuner at $75. I compared it with my Luxman T-110 and the difference was a why bother YMMV.
Looks like what Yamaha was using in their TX1000/2000 tuners. These tranfsormers called "Massive Power Supply" also have been used in the 10000 Series.
I've been using a very nice Sansui TU-417, but could not resist the temptation of a Sansui TU-9900 recently. Cost more than I can really afford, but worth every penny!
