Not sure I have the pin config right but working from left to right

The middle pin is directly connected to ground ..

The 3rd leg connects to the gate leg of the power supply fets

When you get enough light to take a good quality photo, send me a photo of the driver area and the area where the damaged transistor was on the board. Clean the board so I can see the traces and read the designations.

The WY should work in that location. Did you check the transistors before you installed them?

Put a WY in the amp and it doesn't power up again ..

I've tried 6 of these and they all tested fine ..

The only way I can get this amp to power up is with the UY transistor ..

There could be problems in the circuit feeding Q521. Most kenwood amps have both over and under voltage protection that can fail. What is the first component that the remote circuit connects to in the area of Q521?

Does the DC voltage go from 0v to 12v when the remote voltage is switched off/on?

The first component it goes to is a resistor the it goes to a diodeD623

The diode is defective and I cannot read the markings on it..

Do you happen to know of a diode that would work in this location leaded or non leaded for testing ?

When remote is applied it just stays at 0 since the diode is bad

If you remove it, does the amp power up?

I think you mean D523.

With the black probe on the amp's ground terminal, post the DC voltage on each pad for the diode with remote on and remote off. 4 voltages.

If you jump the pads with a piece of wire, does the amp power up?

No .. As soon as you did that q522 burnt up

The same fault that caused the diode to open could have caused the transistor to fail.

Look at the attached diagram. See if you can find the corresponding components in your amp. Q521 would be Q3.

Yeah I have the same circuit .. I'll see if anything is decfective in the circuit

The transistor that burnt up is marked BQ do you happen to know of a good sub I can use to further test ?


I have a junk board here but the transistors on that a marked CQ or HQ

MMBTA06 if it will fit.

If you can't figure it out, make a list of the components on the diagram and the corresponding components on your amp.

I foundQ523 to be deceive as well .. Marked the same BQ

I will put another 06 in that location to test more ..

Do you happen to know the original art number so I can order new ones
