Kenwood and Telefunken turntables for newbie

Hello!

After some time as a Hi Fi fanatic, I have recently taken an interest in turntables. This week I came across a couple of turntables that haven't been used for some time:

Kenwood kd-2055 (Resin base, "Marble")
Telefunken s 90 cx

They are both spinning the disc, but the cartridge on the Telefunken is gone and the Kenwood cartridge needs to be changed.

I have read that some use Ortofon OM10 or Shure V41 for the Kenwood. Would any of you recommend these?

How can I tell the difference between the standards 1/2" and T4p on the tonearm? Any information regarding the tonearms?

To me, it seems like the Kenwood was expensive when it was released, but I have my doubts regarding the Telefunken. Any comments from those of you who know more about turntables than me?

Any information/comments on the turntables will be appreciated.

Best regards

how to tell the difference....

well the 1/2" mount has two holes in the top of the cartridge, centred at, you guessed it, 1/2" (or about 13mm),

The "P" mount pushes into the tonearm and is secured by a screw from the side of a cartridge.

look here
for a quick picture...

I have an Ortofon OM10 mounted on a "Kencraft" (by Trio/ Kenwood) and it makes some nice sounds. The cool thing with the OM10 is that you can upgrade to a better stylus if you feel the need without having to change cartridges.

If the Telefunken is typical plastic, then yes, the Kenwood is a much better table.
