KEF coaxial SP1596 tweeter teardown and fix, need 39mm diaphragm!

Maybe check if some of the SBA coaxes will fit physically. I know for a fact that the 6" SB16 fits perfectly iQ3 and will also fit other Kefs that use the same size driver.
SBA has a Satori 7" coax too, but quite pricey.

I have found a tweeter diaphragm that fits the newer model q950. Possibly this can fit in SP1596 8" since the q950 is also an 8" driver. They are 38mm and 8ohm. Not sure how many ohms they are in the old Q900 as both mine are blown.

@Teamblue have you actually got the diaphragms there and tried. I would think you need a 38mm voice coil diameter, not 38mm overall?

No, don't have anything yet. Just thinking out loud while looking for a tweeter that might fit. Looks like the Q950 has a much smaller coil diameter. The strange thing is that there are many diaphragms for sale to Q500/550, Q700/750 and Q950 but not Q900. Maybe there will be a diaphragm for the Q900 soon.

Did you get this to work? Having the same problem with my KEF Q900. Can't buy the tweeter, only the whole unit. 750gbp in my country for 2 pieces of 8" UniQ. A pair of used KEF Q900 is 450gbp, you can do the math.
