I had transmission lines with B139, and was a bit disappointed that there was very little below 40 Hz. I also remember the KEF Bailey kit, which was a big transmission line using the B139. People used to brag about its 20 Hz performance, but there was not really anything below 40 Hz there either.
The lower compliance and hence higher Fr really does not matter in boxes a fraction the size of Vas. The B139 is not bad but there is no magic about it either. If I was to build a TLS based on a B139 I would use a modern bass reflex 10" unit (or two 8" units).
Which 10'' unit have you got in mind?
Scanspeak 26W/8534G00 Seas CA26RFX Seas CA26RE4X are low priced drivers from good brands, there are other ones as well as there are more expensive version out there as well. The B139 do look cool with its flat surface and strange shape, but as far as I can tell it has no magical feature that makes it much better than other 10" units with similar TS parameters.
