Kef T33's are often replaced by Audax TW025A2's or Seas T35C002. The audax is a better fit most think bt the Seas is close. The Kef T33 itself would be an evolution out of the T27 which was an OEM version of the legandaric Seas H087, the direct ancestor of the T35C002. But that tweeter is not a direct replacement, it need an adapted crossover to work in that speaker.
I don't know about the morel or the Peerless tweeters mentioned above.
That's funny I hadn't noticed with mines back then, the tweeter was a 33 mm !
The cavity is so tinny I wonder if that sligthy larger Seas can fit ? For sure the body is too much deep w/o transforming the wood that clamp the tweeter by the back.
So the 33 mm Audax could fit too ? Anyway the cut off is pretty high around 3000-3150 Hz iirc !
I know both are used a lot to repair that cabinet down here, but i never did it myself. I have a pair of those Audax's in store altough, but they never came to me witht that speaker altough i did repair some other old Kef's, but those came with a working T27 tweeter (a Kef Chorale and a Kef Concerto).
The original T33 is a 25mm dome, but you can adjust the hole to fit the bigger domes with no issue i hear. Replacing a tweeter is always also adjusting the case as the driver format is almost never the same. It's not like replacing a tube in a tube amp, it's a rework of the whole speaker as you always also need to redo the crossover to adapt it to the new tweeter if you want to do it right. It's almost developing a new speaker, but based on what's left of the old.
Hummm, in the T33 datasheet they say it is a 25 mm voice coil !
Edit : We firered at the same time....
The hole is a stiff conical wave guide and made by design relative to the MTM... Better not to touch it ! The B110 climb cleanly. Whatever the dispersion to be not sota in the crossover area off axis, these loudspeakers image very well and almost disseaper. I'm pretty sure the Audax and T35 Seas will not enter w/o the dome touchs.
