im just wonder if i can use this unit to rectify ac to dc to the heaters on a preamp with 6022s in it.
peak repetitive reverse voltage, working peak reverse voltage and dc blocking voltage = 800v
rms reverse voltage 560v
average rectified output current 6 amps
non repetitive peak forward surge current 250 amps
forward voltage per element 1.0v
peak reverse current 10 micro amps
at rated DC blocing voltage 1.0 milliamps
the tubes draw 600 mA each and there are four of them parallel.
what value of capacitor do your recomend?

You haven't told us the rest of the tale. The rectifier you propose is total overkill in one sense and may be inadequate in another. We don't know the filament voltage of the tubes used, nor the output voltage of the filament transformer under load. It may be that the rectified dc may be too low due to rectifier and other circuit losses, and there probably isn't enough voltage overhead for proper filtering or regulation (if necessary) - poorly filtered DC is far worse than AC frankly.
So tell us what you are modifying and fill us in on some of the other details.

filament voltage is 6.3. C+ is 7.2.
the reason i ask about this component is because i pilfered one out of some other component a while ago so it is just that i happen to have one.
im getting too much humm out of this preamp. im thinking it is maybe because of the ac C+. maybe it is bad wiring, i dont know. some tubes humm more than others when i roll them.
the preamp is a dual parallel single ended triodes with paralleled cathode followers.
