Karlsonator?

Hi.

I visited OlavHaal last week and listened to his 10.2 FHXL, and small br 12P.
They sounded good, but I really liked the dynamics of the 12P. 🙂

I asked XRK971 to simulate the 12P in a karlsonator cab, and the sims looked good with a 93db sensetivity and -3db at 48hz.

Has any of you guys any experience with these kind of enclosures with Mark Audio drivers?

No experience with Karlson enclosures.

It would be interesting to know where X got the extra 3dB?

I'm no expert, but to my understanding the Karlsonator acts like a tapped horn in the bass. I would guess that would make some gain...

It isn't the efficiency in the bass that determines efficiency, it is midband levels, which you'd think would be the same or a bit less than their rating. Some extra gain in the bass can be used for baffle step.

Yes, I was referring to the sensetivity in the bass area.
