I used tiles myself, but I can't see any reason why 6mm glass couldn't be used instead.
Hello, Came across this thread through a Google search. I made a pair of Km's in the early 90's after buying Mr Capel's book.
They did sound great no doubt about it, but difficult to make took me about 3 weeks to do it, waiting for the glue to set took up a lot of time.
I made mine with a removable panel just in case I needed to replace the drive units. I listened to them for about 10 years first using a Sony TA-1055 (bought for a fiver in a 2nd hand shop, "Got any amplifiers mate?") and then when I had some more money I made a JLH ten watt.
Now the FH3's sound much better and are a lot easier to make.
