This amp had +/-25V stabilized voltage rails for the preamp. Both line regulation transistors get pretty hot - ~ 55°C with IR meter. Is this normal - or do I need to search for a current leak ?
For pass transistors they aren't heavy duty -500ma .
Yours are outputting (approx ) 300mw at the temperature you have supplied going by the graph which is still within the limit but as they aren't heavy duty they will get hot .
As they are general purpose when hot they will be outputting noise.

thx - that would be like ~ 16mA current -sounds feasible. but its winter now - imagine at summer 20K more environmental temperature + closed housing .... would translate to >75°C - which sounds high. Guess I am going to mount some small heat-sinks.
Sorry Lucin I was looking at the wrong transistors they are more heavy duty than I thought once I increased the expansion to over x100 I could see they are good for a least an amp + and their junction temperature is good for 150 degrees C.
