receiver problem
hi everyone
last few days i spent battling with this jvc jr-s301 receiver
and i need your help
first the good news, tuner section works perfectly, power amp section works perfectly,
however, somewhere in signal pass something adds to the signal nasty cracking/poping sound
it sounds like dirty record, like listening dusty old scratched up record
it has this static dc character, sometimes its quite low, sometimes very violent, loud
it does not matter which signal source is selected, it does not matter how volume pot is high, even if it is down to the ground
thanks to Ebbe I have schematics, and it goes....signal selector, than volume control with loudness, than one amplification stage, than balance pot, than five band equalizer and off to power amp
the only thing which affects the cracking level is position of the pots on equalizer, however, it does not eliminate it, just does affect the frequency response
I have cleaned whole receiver in and out, all the switches, connectors, everything. I took the equalized board out and sprayed pots with contox, did not help a bit
I am almost inclined that reason for the static might be the first amplification stage, not the equalizer itself, but the sound is ok
did any of you outhere have experience with this kind of problem? any suggestions? I would have hate to bypass the equalizer, but if thats what it takes, to make it work, i will gladly do it, but at this point i am not sure it thats where the reason is,
the whole receiver, when its not cracking, has great sound
thanks for help
