A lot of singing is done in our house, but I have small kids. My elder brood would often sit at the piano and play their favourite hits (at least where they could find the chord sequence).
Loads of great music and easier to find than ever before. It's a great time to love music.

The first rapper was the best rapper
That would probably be Count Matchuki (Winston Cooper b 1929 in Kingston, Jamaica).
The first HipHop Deejay was DJ Kool Herc (Clive Campbell b 1955 also in Kingston, Jamaica) who moved with his family to the Bronx when he was 12.
Rick is an absolute treasure, and helluva adept multi-instrumentalist. Check out his rants in YT demonetization and blocking. Kinda like Beau of the Fifth Column (Jason King); there are times when you’d swear his eyes are about to pop from the pressure of his vituperation.
Surely that happened in the 1960s? In LA the same band played all the records to get 'hits' for most pop releases, so much so that 20 years later they got named 'the wrecking crew'. I really don't see this as a 21st century problem, just another older generation thinking modern music isn't as good as it was when they were young.
The wrecking crew worked on a lot of albums but a very small percent of the total. Did you watch the video? Now all you need is a "laptop and a celebrity" to record hit songs, and there written by a committee of the same few writers. And its the writing thats most important.
