Here's the woofer, about 5"deep.
We found out about them when we put one in a Chevy Blazer, and realized it was a nice little sub.
This box is a large at .37, but it will give might give you some ideas.
Cut up a cardboard test box, see what you can live with.

Is there a technical 'mininal' distance the magnet has to be from the back wall of the enclosure?
Many drivers have rear vent holes in the magnet structure to get rid of heat, as a rule of thumb the width of the vent would be a good bet to not reduce the heat transfer. Is there a technical 'mininal' distance the magnet has to be from the back wall of the enclosure?
Thanks, I was refering more with the relationship to sound, if it doesn't have much impact on that I don't think my subs can really over heat at the level they're pushed in such a small truck cab 😀
Sound shouldn't be an issue, if the vent is too close to the back wall it will "chuff", but you won't hear it buried in a cabinet. Thanks, I was refering more with the relationship to sound, if it doesn't have much impact on that I don't think my subs can really over heat at the level they're pushed in such a small truck cab 😀
