I like the music of this man very much.
It got that really rockin' drive, I like it so much.
This type of music was called sometimes Country Rock.
No matter what we call it, John Fogerty and Creedence era
belongs to rock history, for sure!
I would recommend his first solo album from 1975
after the split of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Lotsa CCR lately..
I have been enjoying the as of late..I much more apprecaite them now then 30 years ago..I dare anybody to sit still during a CCR song...look at the damn gear they were using.....absoltely amazing.

Creedence Clearwater Revival
John Fogerty never wrote a love song during his CCR career.
All that while competing with The Beatles for #1 on the charts.
He was the sole writer and vocalist for CCR.

When I was a child my brother gave me a CCR tape. I thought it was the best thing I had ever heard. All of my friends would be listening to hip hop and then I would put on my CCR tape. They didn't know whether to like it or not. So they just listened. It was great.
Listen to his 2004 Deja Vu All Over Again and see if you can tell which famous guitarist played on his album. Hint: He knows all the chords.
I remember hearing I heard it through the grapevine on the radio and then being blown away when I bought the album and got the long version.
My wife and I listened to Fogerty on public TV, probably a performance from a few years ago, and it was just great. We both cracked up when he actually sang "bathroom on the right", and pointed to the right, probably the most famous misunderstood lyric of all time (bad moon on the rise).

is mighty and powerful enough
there are some singers that has got that special quality
makes it credible & makes you listen, with attention
like:
- Eric Burdon - The Animals
- John Fogerty - Credence Clearwater R
- Bob Dylan - himself
- Van Morrison - himself
- Bob Marley - & The Wailers
... and a few more I forgot to mention ....
Bob Dylan once in an interview (I have this interview on an old Compact Cassette somewhere in my stored away boxes)
He said:
.. it is about PHRASING ....
the sound of expression in your voice ..
not actually so much The Words ... more the sound you give out
and not necessarily dependent on perfect sound mixing and excellence in singing voice.
It is this Phrasing, this ability to Reach in contact with listener
.. that some have and other have less of
My thinking:
Evenso, you might not even need to understand the actually used language
in order to get the spirit and find meaning of a good performance
May I add that facial and body language may be of importance, too.
Many sounds & bodylanguage is at large, a universal thing:
Some of it we human are born with ... other things are a part of most every human culture.
We share A common inheritage in humanity, Both via Blood, DNA & Culture, environment.
