Nuts to you guys! Just TRY to find out how Ferrari makes their metal alloys! They apparently don't publish them either.
kamskoma said:friendly and creative
Excuse me, it was meant as friendly with a twist of irony, certainly not degrading.
If you really believe a high quality commercial product as you described can be offered for $1500, then there are only two options ; you either live in a very affordable area, or you lack knowledge of cost calculation and current price levels.

This is really a blowtorch thread.

I think I have read about it somewhere, but I can’t remember.
On the other hand why should they publish them, to let somebody copy it?

You are absolutely right.
I think that he lives in Norway, and that is a very high cost country.

Bajazzo Sport
JC,
Not really, I have a bid going on a working Bajazzo Sport, my Schaub Lorenz Touring T1000 is out of order, some problem with the tuning shaft and the clutch, the plastic gears are broken.
I also have a tangential tone arm from Rabco and a SME 3012, a lot of HP test equipment some Bruel Kjaer and a EMT 424 WOW/Flutter analyzer and so on.
I Also own a two way filter from Symetry audio I think it is not shure, but it is broken, someone told me that you may have some info.
An old Swedish power amplifier ODEN 2x100W @ 8 Ohm 35 Kg this beast will run very hot.
A full range ribbon loudspeaker system built by myself.
All of the above mentioned oldies are still working and can be repaired many years from now.

I might be able to help you with the Symmetry, but I don't have the schematics, myself. I do have the parts, however.
JC Vendetta
It has been a blowtorch thread but it is more like a Vintage JC-2, JC-2, Vendetta and JC80 thread, I can understand it must be so and wish that JC can continue to learn us more on how to design Esoteric High End Audio Electronics.
Some of you guys has learned very much from JC and also published some schematics, it would be nice to get a conclusion, pcb, semiconductors and preferred schematics, I'm not so skilled in electronic design so I appreciate that you share all of your knowledge.

Symetry
Ok! so it is a JC design, well it puts out DC on the outputs, I don't really have all things in my mind but I shall check it again, the IC parts seems to be very odd never seen this type anywhere.
Thank you! I will return as soon as possible with info, it would nice to have it in working order.

Re: JC Vendetta
When you ask people to publish schematics, I think you should bear in mind that the schematics are copy righted (that does not mean “right to copy”)
JC is the only person that can publish these schematics,.
You should also think of that JC is still designing amps, and use the technology that he invented years ago.
Please also remember that a schematic published here can be seen by a lot more people than the people posting in this thread.
The Chinese “designers” never sleep.

Personally I find exploring and learning through trial and error of greater value than merely copying a design without understanding it.
Although I have advocated in the past that his schematic should be made public, I have come to see what a childish desire that was, really.
The design knowledge that has been shared by JC is more than I personally can digest or understand. His remarks, statements and advice are now valued even more by me.
In that regard I say, thank you John. Keep those pearls coming!

PMA, I once went to see the Royal Ballet in London. I lucked out and got Grand Tier center seats. Just about the royal box. Yet, many of the people around me were less dressed than if I attended a ballet in San Francisco. Go figure.
I don't know about others, in any country.
For me, dressing up properly is my way to show respect to the musicians and the event.

I think that dressing up is OK, but some people 'put on the style'. I consider it 'overcompensation' at least in San Francisco.
Re: What is high quality?
I would figure the answer in this elite club to be to DIY.
Here's a picture of a few hundred J109V and K389V, i just received the last twenty K389 from a GB at the French audio forum to have an equal number of P- and N-channels : Here
The number of well matching ones are likely still enough to service 10 stereo preamps that use the Violet parts.
There are numerous examples at this very forum of amplifiers that have been rebuilt, updated, or completely revamped, sort of a playground for electronics environmentalists i'd say.

For me, paying the ticket price and the musicians' salaries is the greatest form of respect. Robert Heinlein once observed, "The most beautiful words in the English language are, 'Pay to the order of...'"
I know that we are off topic, but: when you pay ticket you do not pay musicians salary at all. You pay someone who owns and operates the hall.
