It depends what you mean ToS, can you give an example?
Well, speakers break in, tubes settle in, electronic bed in ....... and everything seems to sound better and better, until one day, like a value judgment, it all starts to sound like crap - except to cats.

If your amp sounds different daily its garbage, same with the rest of your system.
Does your system sound good every day? I take a bet it does.

It sounds the same everyday. Does yours sound different everyday? And people make system adjustments but dont use AB testing so they have to wait till tomorrow, but everything else has changed so how do you judge the change. This is such stupidity.

If I keep the batteries fully juiced up, it sounds the same everyday. But everyday is different here, the heat and cold, both wet and dry, plus the howling wind, even low lying mist seeping into the barn effects the sound quite a bit. I have to keep the horn speaker sealed up when I am not around, as wildlife do like to make nests inside - now that really does effect the sound. Sometimes it gets so cold I cannot hear anything but the sound of my chattering teeth. The worst is hailstones inches above your head on a tin roof - deafening.
Do you have air conditioning where you live?

Stop being so serious. What I am trying to say is everything is in a state of flux, and some things matter more than others.

Different words for different components but basically the same idea, it's a progressive phenomena?
DC into transformers? How unprofessional. Learn how to servo or else use a large coupling cap.

I suppose it is. Entropy is just part of it, boredom takes care of the rest.

Not wanting to dig through over 27,000 posts on this thread, I have to find curiosity as to the continual and large amount of postings on this "blowtorch" thing.
What exactly IS it?.... and how come it's got so many posts?
Is it THAT special of a product?

Have you answered your own question as to why it always sounds better as it settles in? 😉
Not really, I guess the real answer is when a sound system settles in, it sounds better because we want it to. I mean, do you sit there hoping it will all sound crap? Nope.

Don't forget parts one and twoNot wanting to dig through over 27,000 posts on this thread,
Every system I've owned sounds different day by day. Is it:
Temperature?
Humidity?
Mains voltage?
My mood?
The material?
The moon phase?
Summary: It's impossible to gauge performance without measurements.

Yep, you’ve got it all in one there. Ever have a day when your system really does sounds crap, and yet the music sounds great because you are so very happy? I doubt if it can be measured, though.

No one really knows as no one has been able to listen to it bar John and a few others. Basically 3 guys got together to build their version of the best preamp they could manage for themselves and then sold a small number. An unfortunate death put an end to this mystical product. I've attached the only known (to me) review of it.Not wanting to dig through over 27,000 posts on this thread, I have to find curiosity as to the continual and large amount of postings on this "blowtorch" thing.

JC won't tell us exactly what was in it, but 80% has been let out. However this thread has taken on a life of its own as the swampy bit of DIY audio

Do any of you guys play an instrument, or learn composition, music theory, arrangement, orchestration?
In other words, when you listen to music, do you listen as a musician or as someone from outside that background experience?
Had formal education/training on two acoustical instruments and it is so and so; if listening just for the pleasure (casual listening) I do block out other thoughts.
At other times I'm interested in specifics related to the instruments or playing style; sometimes it has to be following from the score.

Yes. Is it relevant to quality of audio signal reconstruction??
Some members have sunk without trace, some that you thought had gone for ever bob back up, sometimes incognito.....maybe.....<UDHowever this thread has taken on a life of its own as the swampy bit of DIY audio
Yes you can never flush the floaters....I'll get my coatsome that you thought had gone for ever bob back up,

The question came up in the context of what kinds of music different people like. Droning, complex, etc.
No opinion at the moment re the context of signal reconstruction. Haven't thought about it enough.

I'm incredibly naive and stupid on the subject of sockpuppets, etc. I couldn't guess who was one if my life depended on it.
