I just can't imagine selling my integrity and reputation so cheaply, even for the sake of a business partner.
edit: Yayyy, called it! Squiggly lines and circles!
You've already won that prize. Give someone else a chance. 😀

SY my integrity and reputation are OK. I am only trying to make a new measurement.
For the record, I am not a direct business partner. Sure, he has hired me on occasion, to design something (usually part of something) for him, over the last 20 years, but that is all. Yes, he uses my name with a product that I helped design sometimes. Perhaps too much, but I guess it is just too tempting to use my name to get attention, but that is the only fault that I will give him.
You, however, have thrown me over as a colleague, just because you don't like him. Keep an open mind, SY.

Yes very elegant Steve.
Bring one to RMAF, they have a CanJam.
Stuart and I will be there to support you!

I admire your perseverance, Mr Eddy.
(looks very tasteful, btw)
Thanks, Jacco. The inspiration was the old "blackface" radios that were common in the 1920s, like this old Adams-Morgan Paragon.

Thanks, Jan!
Currently working on getting two pre-production units built up so we can send them around for auditioning. Pretty sure they will be done before RMAF/CanJam. Have all the screws, nuts and washers coming in from McMaster-Carr today with other stuff in the queue. Things are moving along pretty quickly. Just a few items with 6-8 week lead times. The first unit will ship to SY so he can do a full measurement suite on it.

Are you winding the trafos? It didn't. We really should have been promoting it several months before launching the Kickstarter campaign. But because I wasted over three months finding someone to build the wood cabinet (had to go through three other clowns before finding J&F) I didn't have that luxury. So we went into the Kickstarter campaign from a cold start.
However several friends are pitching in and I'm doing an updated version of a headphone amp I had developed but didn't put into production. In hindsight this is what I should have done first instead of the console. Oh well. Better late than never.

No. Transformers are CineMag CMMI-5Cs.

I can't imagine being such a dick that I wouldn't use my ears to try the most controversial thing in audio.
They work, get over yourself.
They work, get over yourself.
Of course they do. They work to separate suckers from their money, enrich a charlatan, and give John a mechanism to get attention.
Steve,
Yes go with what you know and then add the speaker design later. I like your retro designs and I'm sure you'll do great with the headphone amp. I'm getting closer all the time and hopefully will have a working board design soon. Social networking first, then the Kickstarter, can't do it the other way around very easily it seems.

I've used them by request in a power filter. It sounded clearly different than the regular filter with the same parts.
Have you used them, so you can backup this claim? If not you should find something else to talk about.
I'm sure you conducted those listening tests with the utmost rigor. 😀 And I hope you told your customer, "Here's your sign!"
Did I ever tell you about the alien abductions?

Yes. You really need to start creating some buzz first.
Hopefully I'll be able to fund a run of consoles on their own and obviate the whole Kickstarter thing.

SY, I don't need any more 'attention' I'm world famous already. I just want to communicate with my associates openly about audio subjects, and prospects for potential improvement. Last week it was 'multiplex', the week before, MQA. Whatever comes up I will at least look at.

Sure this one has been mentioned before here. But sums up what damage an open mind can do to the facts.
