I'm sorry. Is there Any mechanical aptitude at all?

Plenty, except the car thing. Some kind of fetish I figure.
Burning them over night.

I found one of your amplifiers on craigslist, but it looks somewhat modified. Or is that an option?
MARSH AMP A400s- great condition!!!
Ah I see I didn't remember the spelling. Yes, I knew nothing about the music.

Nice. 🙂 Customized face plate.

Just like I said, Richard. '-)
Yep.
NE5534...... no change in thd when running at +/- 30vdc...... I'll have to change PS to go higher with this one.

Oh you know you would like to design, build and drive this -- https://youtu.be/81CX-Vw3JpU

Are those curve still valid? They suggest essentially no sensation over 8 KHz for most of the crowd here. Maybe true for motorcycle enthusiasts but I certainty get annoyed by high pitched sounds.

The curve(s) might seem to suggest that but there is no data captured above 8kHz, so no conclusion can be reliably drawn. Standard audiology measurements/instruments do not go above 8kHz and many modern hearing aids not compensate above 4kHz.
Hi Richard:
was this on current 5534 from TI or NOS from Philips/Signetics or somebody else's?

Where have you been the last 20 years?
The bad news is that they don't reliably work.
Best laser jammer is hard rain🙂
Sandstorm, tornado,.. etc is the same category..
Is it an overkill to hunt 1pV noise in home preamp...or any equipment...for every day on land surface?

Nah, the bad boy is bloodhound now. Silly silly idea, but makes top fuel look like a shopping cart. The fuel pump for the rocket needs 700HP+ on its own. Has an F1 engine for driving the pump.
The rocket designer also has the best moustache in the land speed record game Daniel Jubb | BLOODHOUND SSC
Thing is there has been zero innovation in top fuel for how long now? Anything that would make them faster is banned (say turbochargers) and its down to how good the assembly process on the clutch is and how well the ignition management is handled.
It does work outside, just mind the weather.
My low noise soundcard is in my lab computer, so I'm stuck with doing it inside. I have a 55 gallon drum all ready and I'm heading to Ace later to get the sand. One of the mikes I'm testing has a noise rating of like 10dB, so this would be a great trick.
You could combine a measurement session with a trip to the beach, if the alewives are waning.
New England's gift to us.
I'm watching.
Also see this about PS and AD797 ---> https://ez.analog.com/message/224738
I bring both PS up slowly from zero to max so there is only small differential PS.
The 5534 were bought within the past year or two as new TI parts.

The jammers I know about either are ON all the time throwing out high RF energy at radar freq or respond with a signal back to the source when detected to give false speed reading. Tricky at best..... esp with the instant-ON guns.... on for too short a time period to be detected and do anything about it.

The poor newbie asking that question got more than he bargained for. I had to read it twice before it clicked.
