Incredible! I am really upset now!
I reported an error in a TI data sheet (error in pinout) to the TI European HQ. Now some kid calls me to ask if I would please do it again but now using the proper procedure!! 'Scuse me, wft??

I told her I took my own time and reported out of courtesy an error, so I am not going to do it AGAIN.
Still she continues to lecture me about internal TI procedures, wtf??

Totally unfit for anything that resembles customer service!

Don't people THINK anymore these days!!

Which issue? I avoid ego bashing like the plague nothing good comes of it. An actual mistake should be clear to all parties and no one has anything to lose in correcting it. These LTE sessions are never clearly one way or the other in my experience.

I also try to avoid ego bashing.

Unfortunately, when I first began posting online, I did not follow that rule.

John Curl was a large target of my stupidity. To that, I am deeply sorry.

Don't we have a TI apps guy here running a couple of threads? 🙄

One thing I remember was the belief that feedback resistor current noise would be reduced with feedback. I was even advised to run simulations to convince me that he was correct 😱. What I did do is show examples in extensive footnotes, that also in one case was a short exposition of the technique of "cooled" terminations. This still failed to connect, let alone persuade. I gave up.

OK, I'll look it up, my curiosity is piqued.

Simulation! Thank-you for this morning's laugh. 🙂

EDIT - OK I read it. To be fair even Felix A. Levinzon once said JFET's have shot noise in one of his tutorial articles. The noise figures carried out to 3 places are silly considering that the .667*gm number comes from a guess at the junction grading (which as I measured the BF862 beats). There a a few articles by Van der Ziel where the editors struggled to figure out a way to fit his exact noise equations on the page.

I just got back to Calif from another stay in Asia (my second home) and had some Linear Audio reading to catch up. Vol 8 article by Hans A. Polak and reply by van Maanen is fantastic. And along with Linear Audio Vol.5 have been very helpful to me in explaining much of what i have heard wrong with CD. ... which HiRes audio to large extent fixes. Phew. I'm done. All I have to do now is be sure I have the best interfacing (lowest jitter) and I'm done. See Dr Hans van Maanen's Vol 8 pg 29 last paragraph statement.... Amen.

Moving on to the next thing.

Can we assume you fell firmly on the side of van Maanen in the debate?

Shucks I'm missing Vol. 8 or I might have something pithy to say. 😀

Mr. van Maanen's statement?

EDIT - I do have Vol. 5 hairs were almost pulled out at the time I see why Dick likes that stuff. Lot's of "test" signals that violate Nyquist, conjecture, and uncontrolled listening tests.

Firmly? .... cant ever say Firmly. Both showed good info. However, IME the good Dr is a lot closer to the mark. Why? Simply because he asks the better questions and explores at the edges. Also, seems to be where things point to IMO.

A lot of either way doesnt matter any more because HiRes is here and isnt going away and so i can look forward to more and better in the future...... not so with LP and CD only. So I'm moving on....
