Technically speaking , yes , a fully balanced setup is the way to go , i dont have a fully balanced system but i have heard and do have friends who do, I'm just not convinced , subjectively , its better than single ended sound to go whole hog and convert ...
Sound wise there is not a reason why it would be better. The improvement comes from the better supression of interference and, if well executed, a complete immunity from ground loop junk.
So if you don't have those issues it might well be that there no perceptual difference between a well executed se setup or it's balanced version.

Which is very important.
Everyone has those issues, they may be hidden or low level, thus unrecognized. Direct comparison with better solution will reveal them.
Do not forget that ground loops need not be only hard-wired PE, but also capacitive via stray capacitances, still HF closed loop. One has to get his own experience, before judging.
DVV:
Thank you for such a well written graphic report on the appalling conditions in your part of the world. It is indeed sad to read; so many people whose lives are likely to never be the same again.
Such catastrophies are always sad, no matter when and where they happen.
As long as I live, a vivid picture of a man, held by two already half burnt firemen, during the California fires, trying to reach his home which was on fire, will stay with me. I cannot even imagine the pain of watching your own habitat disappear in flames in minutes. Your life's work gone in minutes.
Or the faces of all those people after the last tsunami - how does one help such people, whose entire lives were simply washed away, now here, gone the next minute?
Is the pain of a countryman of mine any greater, or even different, than the pain of one of your countryman during those bad floods UK had not long ago? I think not, it's just human pain. I remember thinking when I saw the UK floods whatever happened to one Mr Jones, a farmer right next to my school in Somerset. Once you personalize the pain and misery, it's easier to understand and relate, no lighter, but more understandable.

Show everybody the proof.
It's been shown again and again. Even by your buddy John Atkinson. You're the only one who's been covering his ears and shouting, "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALA!"
Keep the true believers believing.
Drive by .....?
"A drive-by is a form of hit-and-run tactic, a personal attack carried out by an individual or individuals from a moving keyboard, often without use of any data or links to support such attacks . It often results in bystanders being shot instead of, or as well as, the intended target. The objective is to overwhelm the target by a sudden, massive amount of firepower without attention to accuracy or providing details"

Solution..?
Man,Bear,Pig juice , 6oz of this baby will easily give you the necessary strength to fight off HO attacks ....

On a lighter note, fully balanced Scotties ....🙂
Now that is an indecently good looking piece of gear. The standard to which I aspire but cannot attain . . . .
😎
JN did not prove anything about MH's measurements, he just conjectured a possible alternative. That is what he does. Does it to me, too.
Isn't it about time you stopped ranting and started posting measurements from your new shiny toy that is collecting dust or are you all about subjective everything including "proof"?
Those red caps are Wima's are they not ?.Now that is an indecently good looking piece of gear. The standard to which I aspire but cannot attain . . . .

Dan.
Almost certainly the MKS (signal) and MKT (power supply) series. Metalized, in several flavors (polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate), from standard +/-20 to tighter +/-5 % tolerance.
Ok, I haven't read their datasheets....you saying that same encapsulation colour is used for differing dielectric types ?.Almost certainly the MKS (signal) and MKT (power supply) series. Can't read the numbers on all those IC's.

Can't read the numbers on all those IC's.![]()
Looks like 741s!
PET, yes. PE, seriously doubtful- temp range is far too low.

No, they all look basically the same, but differ in size and the writing on them.
seriously doubtful
Not like Wima has made any FKC/MKC series caps lately <= polycarbonate
(in the phono board pic, the big red inbetween the bb opa2134ua are MKS4 4.7uF/50Vdc types, size 7.2x10.3x12.5mm)
