]i understand JM47 is a Neumann clone-
the t.bone SC 450 and mxl v67g are looking good to replace, but they are priced very differently - t is £68 - mxl is £100 - will the mxl be slightly better components?
Main question- will the mics be as good as an older jm47 or mxl 2001?

Hi,
From my understanding JM47 and MXL67 are the same mic ( capsule and electronic).

If your mic is dead ( either capsule or electronic) why not convert it to a tube mic?
There is nice capsule available as aftermarket, dedicated transformers ( output),...

And yes it is David Royer, from Royer microphones.
