Hi, could you give your feedback after the upgrade ? Hows the sound quality ? ThanksThis is what became of my 915 upgrade.
I can guess at looking the pics : on the upper passive picture, Mundorf Supreme resistor added a lot of clarity, brigthness according the spl curve if already on the hot side, that may suit or not according how this particular loudspeaker was voiced. Mundorf Evo added a little lazyness but a lot of clarity too, maybe too much for a Focal speaker often voiced a little too clear climbing in the trebles for my musical taste (IMNHO).
The grey caps on the bass filter are old one I know from the mid 80s (I knew them from a Focal kit of those days) and more than drift a lot and that need to be swapped for fresh with the proper value that is near and found by listening. Idem for the 100 uF orange cap that drifted too being a lhitic.

Thanks for the input, i'm considering the same upgrade for my 920'sI can guess at looking the pics : on the upper passive picture, Mundorf Supreme resistor added a lot of clarity, brigthness according the spl curve if already on the hot side, that may suit or not according how this particular loudspeaker was voiced. Good luck 😉
Consider to post a spl curve measurement in your room before if you have a mic and post it here imo before any expensive parts purchase.
You need at minima a cheap tool to measure caps capacitance to measure the one you have on boards before. Whatever it has drift, it gives you a good view to work around that values for the good tweaking and refurbishing. It also permits to measure the fresh caps that can have capacitance mismatch with what you believe you purchase.

I have a pair of the same 915.1's in storage. I found that the midrange speakers on mine came in one at a time, and both were only working on each channel at high volumes. In your experience is this indicative of anything in particular?
Thanks for the assistance.

That's a good tip, thanks for it. I was thinking of that measuring tool, but since i've got these new speakers, i should get one.Good luck 😉

Not exactly. Yes, the clarity improved. But the rough edges are gone. And if you don't like treble, JMLab is not your speaker anyway.I can guess at looking the pics : on the upper passive picture, Mundorf Supreme resistor added a lot of clarity, brigthness according the spl curve if already on the hot side, that may suit or not according how this particular loudspeaker was voiced.
