Hello all,

Over the years, I have collected a vast amount of info about these particular speakers.

I restored my message forums. It was chalked full of good info, but I lost it all. Activity is currently dead. Maybe it'll pick up again if I have more than 2 messages there. Hahaha...

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Enjoy!

It's the Utopia. However, it's discontinued now and the successor is the Utopia BE. But, the shape is the same with new colours using the new BE tweeter.

Drivers will cost around $3000-6000CDN, depending if you can get the them used or new.

Spend another $500-700 or so in kick *** xover parts and another $500-2000 in buiding materials. As you can see, depending how you build it, the meat of the $$$ goes into the components.

I think the real Utopia BE one can be had for around $40-45k CDN.

Yes, definately a lot of effort. Since I bought most of my drivers used, I was able to save a bundle of $$$. Unfortunately, I haven't completed my Utopia clone yet. I put it on hold many years ago due to time. It's still on hold but I'm glad my site has inspired others to build their own Utopia clone.

I heard the original Utopia three or so years ago at the Montreal Hi-Fi show. It's one of the most impressive sounding refridgerators I'd ever heard. 🙂
