The JL amps shut down the main supply but leave the low-voltage supply operating for 10-15 seconds. In normal operation, you won't hear the audio because the signal source mute the audio when the head unit is switched off. When audio continues to be driven into the amp, you may hear audio until the rail caps discharge.
