Hi All,
I have a front to back JL Audio system, wires and all. I believe that I have done every troubleshooting trick to narrow down my problem to the amp or a power drain.
My amp, when parked or no driving is involved, seems to play my 12" w6 v3 subs nicely. But when I drive, I hear a distinct drop in the bass. I hit a bump, and bass comes back on.
Now, when I was able to duplicate the drop while parked, I started to think it was now just the amp being faulty. I wiggled the RCA's: fine...rechecked all the other settings and all were fine...except for when I touched the input sensitivity gain. As soon as I put my finger on it, the bass came back just fine. But when I took it off, the bass dropped again.
I tried to jam some old sodder wire I found to hold the gain knob in place, but that dosen't work. I tried mounting the amp upside down so that gravity would help with the knob: no use.
Any suggestions?😕

This should probably be in "Car audio".
Sounds like the gain pot is not soldered very well to the PCB. I had the same problem with a connector on a TV. (but not in a car)
Re-soldered pins and all was OK.
