JL 1000/1 Input Issue

Amp is mono with 2 rca inputs. When I hook up one rca i have a distorted ouput. Hook up both inputs and the distortion goes away.

2 2068 IC's on the initial input stage, seem to be ok.

Are you using a signal source with a grounded shield?

You are right.

I rebuilt my bench power supply and did not hook the shield ground back up to the ps ground. (I use a signal generator on a laptop that has no earth ground)

Once I hooked rca shield ground back up this issue went away.
