JFET substitution for Pass B1

Could the PF5102 J-FET made by fairchild work as a replacement for the 2SK170 in the Pass B1 buffer it simulates well in spice. But I don't know how it will sound in the real world. Thanks.

It will work fine. Take care about Pd_max (lower JFET, the CCS, might need some degeneration if Idss is too high - the datasheet says it can be as high as 20mA. 10mA is enough).

The 2SK170BLs are common enough on E-Bay.

The only fakes I received were from a UK supplier which were refunded (eventually).

Why not j310 with 100R? Works really well. I can't hear any differences to the sk170 (for line level signals).

And it's available and cheap too.
