Having an issue with a newly installed Jensen CAR710 HU in my truck. After installing using the pre-wired harness from Crutchfield, there is a constant static hiss. Hissing is audible even while driving but not oppressive. Hiss stays at same volume regardless of volume on HU and is present even when no audio-input is selected. Hissing is present when the engine is running and while in accessory mode. Sounds like the ambient background fuzz on a tape-track. This noise is consistent across FM/Bluetooth/CarPlay inputs so I don't think it's input specific.
Crutchfield sent an in-line noise filter that I wired into the 12V in and and back out to the harness ground line and that did not fix the issue. Any other suggestions on how to fix the issue and get the unit to stop the hissing noise?

No amplifier in the system between the HU and the speakers. OEM setup was the same way. Only thing I have done is replace the OEM HU with the new Jenson CAR710 unit. No hissing noise was present w/ the OEM HU.
Just received some RCA shorting plugs in the mail, so plan on giving those a shot this afternoon to see if that fixes any of the constant hissing noise. Fingers crossed. 🤔
Does the hissing change when you do things like change the radio channel or change between the various sources on the head unit?
Does the hiss change at 0 volume?
