You guys on the other side of the big pond can get a lot of things we have a hard time finding. Just look at some of the stuff coming out of Twaiwan. Wish I had a few air miles. Tad

MMK caps
I was just looking at Jens boards and thought I would use the same caps. Those are MMK. I think I will just buy them and if you want email and I can send them out at 20 cents each. I will have to check the lead time on these. Most of the other values are easy to find. Tad

Evox capacitors
I have been informed that maybe the mmk cap is not the preferred chioce. Also, I was emailed by Mouser that I need to buy 3000 instead of 1000. I will get back in touch with Mouser. Would the community let me know what the preferred brand and style for the 0.1/250 cap should be. I am having a problem sourcing this in the U.S. in the Rifa/Evox brand. Any help on these matters appreciated. My primary sources are Digikey and Mouser. A very good alternate source would be welcome.
I am glad the boards are finding their way home in good condition to happy owners. Tad

Hi Tad,
You said that the mmk was not a preferred choice. Why is that, just for my education purpose? How about:
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=495-3116-ND
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=495-1375-ND
Both seem to fit the parts description:
100nF 100V 6.4 x 13.3 box, 10mm ping spacing.
The MKP will cost about 20 cents each fo quantity of 1000, too.

Re: Evox capacitors
These film caps serve as bypass caps for the electrolytic capacitors C21, C27. In these positions MKPs are regarded as better but other types film caps such as MKC/MKS/MKT/MMK can be used as well... as long as they fit the boards, of course.
I use Wima MKP10 100nF/160V on mine (the lastest 30ps I have). Unfortunately this type is no longer available at Mouser since it is not in production anymore. Alternatively we can go for Xicon MKP 100nF/250V for USD 0.25/pieces when buy 1000 pieces at once. Another (cheaper) option is AVX MKT 100nF/250 V for USD 0.16/pieces when buy 1000 pieces at once.

Just get this:
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=495-1278-ND
Epcos MKP .22uf/160V. Works better than .1uf for the decoupling purpose. Sounds better than Wima MKP10. 21 cents each per 1000.

Tad,
Got my PCB set thanks a bunch!
If possible I would also like to get 26 caps (2ch worth).

Good catch, finneybear. No sound experiences with Epcos MKP here but my vote goes to this Epcos MKP 0.22uF/160V.
Theoretically it's better than 0.1uF for this purpose. The price is very good too 😀 .
