JBL M2 horn on top of what driver in a 4507 cabinet?

Hey guys

Thinking of giving the M2s a go in conjunction with 4507 15" driver cabinets. Question is, should I use the 2226 or something else?

2035h is a very good choice- 3" rather than 4" coil but has a shorting sleeve and a very nice motor, and should perform better up high than the 2226h. The 2226h has the edge on output by a slight bit, the 2035 is more sensitive but handles less power and is lower impedance so efficiency is rather close between the two, none of which matters in a home environment. If you're using with a 40-50hz vent, be sure to high-pass the mains, if you're going to run HT through them as well as music (or if you like high level music and listen on a TT or to exotic recordings with lots of subwoofer freqs).

Do you hgave to buy them new anyways ? Why not go with one of the "HIFI - ish" JBL 15" woofers ?

They cost a litte more than a 2226 but can be tuned lower, almost like one of those expensive TADs. The one without the -1 is the original version from the M2.
