I have access to some used IXFB38N100QF MOSFETs and I was wondering if they'd be acceptable for audio use. The price for these is quite high at $18 or so, but my price for them is considerably less 😉 They're rated at 1000V/38A so they seem like a little overkill. Please take a look at the datasheet. I'd love to hear any comments from more experienced builders.
BTW, I tested a few for Vgs and they come in slightly higher than IRFP240a at around 6V.
Thanks,
Everett

Do you have any examples of MOSFET based power supplies? I have only seen CRC style supplies with large cap reserves.
A single pair would be good for a 400W sub amp. They seem reasonably fast and you might just get away with using them full range. They take a lot of driving though.
