I have been in contact with a company that makes IV/UV Hot mirrors. I have a sample being shipped now and it should be here by monday. Is there anyone that would be interested in getting these because I feel that I should be able to purchase them relatively cheaply if I buy several. I also have a registered business so if anyone knows a company to buy these from that does not sell to the normal public I might be able to help.
hot mirror source
There would be a big market for a true hot mirror that is at least 4" by 4". 5" by 5" would be even better. (5" diameter round would also be great.)
I have tested hot mirror, DIYprojectorCompany's IR glass, and Rosco Thermashield, and the hot mirror was much better. It passed about 94% of the visible light, compared to around 80% for the other filters.
The hot mirror also was the best at blocking IR. With my 250 Watt MH lamp, the LCD barely gets above room temperature.
If you can get it with just IR reflection for less than the IR & UV combination, then do it. UV blocking is cheap and easy, using UV filter sheets or Lexan XL10 (which also supports a fresnel nicely). All of the hot mirror I have found is very expensive when you buy a large enough piece for a DIY projector.

You said that you have tested Rosco's hot mirror I see. So far that is the only company who has returned my messages. Their sample piece of 2" X 2" Hot Mirror arrived today and it seems to work very well. I will still try and see how much they would sell a quantity of them for. I have a registered business and tax ID for resale so I can truely get wholesale prices legally on things.
tests
No, I only tested Rosco's Thermashield film. This is a heavy plastic film you can cut with scissors to put between lamps and color gobos in stage lighting fixtures. Rosco has many other products including real hot mirror. As I said, the Thermashield was not very selective and not very transparent.
The real hot mirror I tested came from DIYBuildersGroup's store. It worked VERY well, but they only sell it in 2" by 2" squares. I had to make a frame to mount four of these pieces in front of my lamp. I would love to find a larger piece of true dichroic hot mirror that worked as well, at a reasonable price. I have found some sources, but they want hundreds of dollars for one.

Rosco has just quoted me $1500 for 50 of these mirrors that does not include shipping to me. So after they are shipped to me then distributed I assume that it would cost about $45-50 per unit for diyers to buy. That is for a 4"x4" Real hot mirror with IR and UV filtering. I asked about getting it only with IR filtering and they said that it would be no cheaper.
