i’ve realized recently that many of my physical media film titles are only mono or stereo pcm, and have reconsidered an r2r dac approach with an active crossover speaker setup and stereo tapped horn subs— as opposed to my current ess dac setup for watching physical media
beyond this recent pursuit, there are ancient still unfinished goals and foggy notions of dsp and room eq potentials still out of reach.
back in 2012 i got to hear tom tutay’s altec triode mod, bounce ideas off him for an afternoon and see his other projects at the time. much of what i learned that day still motivates my search for the sound, and there is still so much i have yet to hear
