Try a braided three wire cable using silver plated Teflon jacketed stranded wire for interconnect cables. Similar to Cardas style. Use one wire for signal, one for ground, and the other as shield connected only on one end. The source device gets the end with 2 ground wires. It is a very open and revealing cable. Use silver bearing solder to prevent leaching of the silver off the wire. I also like silver plated RCAs. Silver plated is not needed on speaker wires due to the higher levels seen on amp outputs vs low level signals. 24ga is fine for low level and I use stranded for ease of routing, solid is hard to manage neatly between devices. Try it, you might be happy!
As noted before, bonded-pair CAT cable, either unshielded or shielded makes great XLR interconnect cable.
In the meantime,i make spesker cable quad star construction from 4x 1.5mm copper and 8x 1mm silverplated copper,2 wires twisted in spiral and then 4x2 twisted in quad star formation. Quad star 8x1mm sirverplated copper is way better then 2x1 silverplate,all details and realism is ther but ih has much more power in bass spectrum,speciali in lower bass.
Bass is clean,precise,fast and detsild but it has much more power.
4x1.5mm coper has double bass power,but bass is mudy,not detailed,and mid and high dont have details wich silver have. Niether have realism,you hear its a recording. For example High hopes from Pink Floyd,begining of dong,bell,birds and bee,on copper you can hear its recordin,and on silver its like you hear them outside,very big diference in realisam.
If i dont have in plan to make 18" sub,i will probably secriface detsils for more bass,but with 18" sub,i will have bass for export so this lack of power in bass on silverplated copper its not a problem for my sistem,but its there.
I like details on silver,and now i can turn volum so high it hurts and still there is no muddynes in sound. Im very setisfied with this for now.
Still waiting thin silverplated copper for interconect experimet to continue.
This day i will order mundorf foil for speakercable,so son that will also come to realization.
It so fun to experiment with this. What a big impact on sound,and its "just" a cable. 🙂
Thanks everyone for input!

Well some of us are interested in very good cables, whether the differences will be audible in any particular situation or not.OTOH, for people who don't hear differences in speaker cables or other cables why would it be of any interest?
It's sort of like buckling your cars seat belt whether you are planning on having an accident that day or not.
Yes,this is what i make allready,black one,3 wires braided. But its 1mm diameter so i have a feeling that thiner will be much better. But still waiting for wire. I orderd 100m 0.2mm,100m 0.3mm and 60m 0.4mm,so there will be a lot for experimenting.Try a braided three wire cable using silver plated Teflon jacketed stranded wire for interconnect cables. Brided 3x1mm interconnect its the best for now so this is what plays in system.
I will try also quad star for IC,some say better then 3 braided.
Lets see.
diameter:
1mm = 18AWG
0.4mm = 26AWG
0.3mm = 28AWG
0.2mm = 32AWG
Those are very small wires for a loudspeaker cable. You will have to bundle several.

Just listening. Maybe one day i make messurments.How are you going to compare them?
