I've just used ADuM4160 based isolators for simpler USB soundcard (windows based to 48kHz sampling) isolation - these used to come with a separate DC input to allow battery powering - but nowadays ebay just seems to have isolator boards with on-board 5V-5V isolated dc/dc converter modules.

About this artifacts I dislike the DC-DC converter and supply from the original +5v USB.

I think any external lineal low noise DC regulator for the output signal is better.

Isolate also the voltage, a clean voltage for the ouput stage.
