I've designed and printed a bazillion waveguides, and I've generally found that oblate spheroidal produces the best polar response.
Here's how I make mine: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/279476-3d-modeling-tips-tricks.html

Thanks for your answer and your tips and tricks... my first quotation for a 3D printing service is 😱 amazing
... because 3D printing is too expensive, a small WG of 8' diameter and 2' of deepness cost 200$... for a basic plastic finish with +-0.5mm of precision.
I wait for a honorable and respectable democratic offer.
Agreed... but i don't have 1200$ of pocket money these times.
Do you know how much is the median revenue income per month for a normal citizen ?

I'm a fan of the Monoprice printers. I have a $600 Printrbot Simple Metal but I prefer my $400 Monoprice printer. I believe they have models for under $200. I bought the $400 one because I like having a (relatively) large build volume.
FYI.
I've tried barely all possible WG and horns and they all have diffractions issues 🙄
Except the original WG profile
