Is this projector working?

Hi!
I'm new to this forum and to the subject of building a projector. I've found the following site about it and on the page are some scanned plans of a projector.
To be honest, I can't see a way how this projector can work. How can the light intensity of the projected image be increased with the two light sources? I understand how this is working, if you have your light source directly behind your lcd display but that isn't the case in that projector.
Today I was just building a similar projector and it worked fine. I get a nice image at the wall, but the light intensity is really bad and the 2 light sources don't make it any better. I can switch them off and have the same intensity, thus only the power of the lcd display is making the projected image (of course I have to be pretty near to the wall to see something).
So I wondering now if this plan is just a joke...
Or am I missing something important? I don't know....Can anybody please tell me?

Thanks in advance!

oops, sorry...I forgot the url....

I was experimenting a bit more and now it even seems to work...with the projector described, you can for example project an image or an object that's under the mirror. Projecting a lcd display didin't work for me...probably you have to turn the brightness *down* very much and thats not possible with the lcd handy display I was using. The best for this projector is a lcd display that doesn't emit light (like GameBoy Advance display or similar). But I was projecting a page of a magazine and it looked fine...

Kopy Kake

i have posted the oriogin of that projector here and in other forums.

it is a machine originally made for cake decorating. bakers slide a drawing under 2 pins and the box projects a fairly poor quality picture on the cake that the baker then outlines and fills with colors. cheap and junk.

the problem is that the lcd picture gets washed away cause of the bulbs being in front of the lcd ...........
maybe with some extra tinkering...... ??
