You're probably right. I don't know what communication you have had with the (non-)purchaser. Nor did I know how close he was.
I always try to see the best in people.
I have made umpteen purchases over the years, often local and cash on collection.
Only once did a seller object to me collecting instead of the item being posted but he was open to persuasion. He only had to wait til the weekend.
I know collection is an Ebay option but many don't bother to select this as it is not a default and I have often bid without checking with the seller first. Usually where I have placed a starting bid with little expectation of winning.
