Dear all,
a friend of mine bought a closed hifi shop in my town and, in the leftovers, he found this board which should belong to a Mark Levinson device, probably a preamp.
I see some similarities with the ML38(s) but I am definitely not sure. Is there anybody who can help me identifying it?
I would also be happy to understand if it can be reused in any way
Thank you in advance
Gaetano

Be interesting to know if they work.
Might have been saved to fix later.
Or the hope of fixing later.
As in the original repair was =
Replace the whole board?

I don't know but there is one more detail that can help. This board is saved in an open cardboard box on which there is the label in the attached picture.
I think that this board can be the result of a replacement for upgrade which was originally contained in the cardboard box.
What do you think?

Indeed. Searching for images gives an idea of what's missing, mainly all the I/O daughter boards and the electronics related to the controls. Assembling a working preamp from this board would be a very nice and difficult project 🙂That is what it looks like. I did some Google image searches. I suspect that there are other PCB assemblies needed for a working preamp but that is a very significant piece.
Interesting
Probably much better sign of possible operation.
Would be case of reverse engineering
to include whatever power / controls are needed
to make work

It is rather fascinating thinking to bring back to life such board but everything starts from being sure of which preamp model it belongs to 🙂
You may contact member @Algar_emi and @Peter Daniel , they know everything about the No.38!
