a while ago i finished a passive sub project...
right now the receiver that powers the 12"
's is on my desk..
i was wondering if it would be a bad idea...
if i had just placed the receiver on top of the 2 3' cu. ft sub boxes instead..
would there be too much shock/electromagnetic interference on the receiver?

Assuming that the receiver is based on solid state components and not tubes, there should be no problem. If it rattles from the bass movements just put something dampening underneith the receiver. The magnetic fields shouldn't affect it at all.
