i was talking to some dude i ran into @ work and he was telling me about something called a W box, (apparently he says it same thing bose uses in some of their systems). its some sort of bandpass type enclosure where the woofers are at some sort of angle, and the box itself has a bunch on angles, and the angles combined to give a much louder sound...
basically, my question is there such a thing as a W box or is this guy pulling shiznat out of his ****..?

These are a standard item in pro audio circles, and the Klipsch La Scala is one of the few that used this form of horn loading domestically (although there was a Pro version of the LS for many years)
Basically its a short horn where the flare is bifurcated (forked) and continues it's expansion through the folds to save space. Usually used in the 50-500 Hz range, and there are designs for one or more drivers. The pic below is from the <a href="http://www-user.uni-bremen.de/~carnivor/horn/hornfolds.html">Horn Foldings</a> page. It's designed for two 15" drivers with them mounted in the cutouts in the triangular rear enclosure.
