Is there any reason for me to hold onto my Fostex FE206E?

how good are they really, say at resolving deep bass drumroll,
Not sure what to say; but being really general and subjective, I'd say that they are very listenable, but perhaps just above average at resolving transients. They are very good for making a very listenable speaker for little money. The cones seem softer and more damped compared to pro drivers, and of course compared to metal cones, but deliver very believable/appealing mid-bass and warm mid range.
The biggest I know about is an 8". So it would take a few of them to really move much air.

Perhaps the smaller W14 would be "faster"... (Dave?) Over here, Silver Flute sells them as "automotive speakers", $12ea for the W14; lots of choices under ~$20 including ultra-tech. One of my worst price & performance buys was the locally-made and then "imported" Tangband W5-1880 at ~10X.
