Is there an easy makeshift way to stretch mesh fabric to create grilles?

I have to protect the drivers and don't have time to build something fancy. It can't just be stretched on a wire or something because there has to be tension, otherwise it won't keep a distance from anyone pressing on the speakers.

FYI/FWIW, I've used pet screen ever since a large/rabid Raccoon tried to get into the kitchen and while his sheer weight/'feeding' frenzy to get to me tore the somewhat cheap/flimsy sliding door screen frame into a wad of uselessness, he didn't claw/tear/rip any portion of the screen beyond loss of cosmetics, so became my default driver/speaker/whatever protective covering with the downside that like with Model T Ford paint schemes 'you can have it any color you as long as it's black', though I see that a lot of colors have been added since I first wrote this.

edit: WRT mounting, personally have just tightly wrapped it around the speaker, anchored in the rear since it's relatively cheap and I'm always short of time [some say just plain lazy].
