The "helper" driver that makes this a "1.5" speaker is acting as a fake passive radiator. I'm not inclined to cut a circular piece of plywood to plug the opening, but I might test out a scrap piece clamped over the driver to see if there is an improvement. For now, I'm pretty happy with my good luck.

It's ported in the rear. And, yeah, I got lucky with how well the drivers settled into the recesses of the openings. That, and I measured the dimensions beforehand. . . .
